If you haven’t heard of the movie, here’s a quick plot:
As the story progresses, its focus shifts to a samurai-style code of honor and antirobot prejudice. On the planet Heavy Melder, Warrius Zero confronts three of Leiji Matsumoto’s most famous characters: Toshiro, Emeraldas, and the dashing space pirate Captain Harlock. Although Zero is on a mission to capture or kill Harlock, honor precludes their attacking each other: the respectful enemies share drinks in the town of Gun Frontier–where liberty and alcohol are respected. Zero discovers that Marina, the first officer of his ship, the Karyu, is a mechanized woman when Hel-Matear sabotages the ship, destroying its computer system and exposing Marina’s secret. Hel-Matear then lures Marina and Zero to Miraiseria, Marina’s home world. Cosmo Warrior Zero hardly ranks as Matsumoto’s best work, but his many fans will want to follow the further adventures of their favorite characters. Recorded in 1994, Bob Dylan: MTV Unplugged is a brilliant, quietly impassioned performance by one of pop music’s most significant figures. Fronting his empathetic five-piece band (Bucky Baxter excels on dobro, mandolin, and pedal steel guitar; Bob himself plays frequnt “rhythm leads” on his Martin), Dylan performs four of his best-known and potentially most overdone tunes in the 73-minute show; but “All Along the Watchtower,” “The Times They Are A-Changin’,” “Like a Rolling Stone,” and “Knockin’ on Heaven’s Door” all sound great, with Dylan, as is his wont, re-casting both the arrangements and melodies. Even better is the obscure “John Brown” (written in the early ’60s but apparently unreleased by Dylan until now), a driving, biting war protest song of the kind that made him famous, while “Dignity,” a lesser-known tune from the ’90s, is filled with great lines (”Met Prince Phillip at the home of the blus… said he was abused by dignity”), and “Shooting Star” revisits Oh Mercy, Dylan’s best ’80s album. Through it all, Dylan says nary a word, although he does smile and shake some hands (even removing his shades) at the end. And as good as it may be, this show is most likely different from every Dylan concert before or since, a sure sign of an artist in no danger of becoming irrelevant. –Sam Graham

Wimbledon – The Record Breakers is a powerful, revealing account of some of the most important records to have been achieved at The Wimbledon Championships in the modern era.

In 1985 Boris Becker shocked the world by winning the Men’s Singles Final at the age of 17. Becker recalls his magical journey to become the youngest men’s champion, the first German and the first unseeded player to win the Men’s Singles title.With nine Ladies Singles titles to her name, the naturalized American Martina Navratilova is the most successful woman to have played at Wimbeldon. From her first singles success in 1978 to her last in 1990, Martina recalls her path to record breaking glory. In 1979 Navratilova helped Billie Jean King to achieve a record twenty titles with their success in the Ladies Doubles Final, a feat which Martina herself has now equalled. Navratilova’s namesake Martina Hingis from Switzerland became the youngest champion to win the Ladies Doubles title in 1996. Hingis remembers what it was like to achieve that feat and to go on to win the Ladies Singles crown the following year.

With a record seven Men’s Singles titles, Pete Sampras is arguably the greatest men’s Wimbledon champion of all time. He remembers his first victory against fellow American Jim Courier in 1993 and other classic finals against Boris Becker, his compatriot Andre Agassi and the Croatian Goran Ivanisevic and recalls his record-breaking seventh title victory against the Australian Pat Rafter in 2000. The Swiss sensation Roger Federer is the defending Wimbledon Champion and regarded by many as the heir to Pete Sampras’ Wimbledon throne. Federer recalls his dramatic triumph over the seven-time champion in 2001.

Narrated by Geoffrey Palmer and written by Andrew Longmore, Wimbledon – The Record Breakers is a fascinating insight into the minds of some of Wimbledon’s greatest champions as they recall their most famous record-breaking triumphs on the hallowed turf of the All England Lawn Tennis Club.

All the usual favorites, like “If You’re Happy and You Know It” and “The Ants Go Marching,” get the gang and their real-life kid friends grooving, and a running joke involving a renegade meatball keeps kids 18 months to 5 tuned in to the end.
